Dr. James Liu joined his brother in practice at The Omaha Eye Institute in 1996. Since then, Dr. James Liu has also become one of the most experienced and talented eye and cosmetic surgeons in Omaha having performed thousands of laser and microsurgical procedures utilizing the latest techniques and technology available today. He specializes in refractive surgery, cataract, cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, and laser skin rejuvenation.

Dr. Liu is an honors graduate of Harvard University and the University of Puerto Rico and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society as a student. Subsequent to his internship at Hurley Medical Center at Michigan State University, Dr. Liu completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine in 1996.

Dr. James Liu was American Board Certified in Ophthalmology in 1998. He has been a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology since 1996 and a Fellow of the Academy since 1998. He continues to actively participate in numerous continuing education programs in ophthalmology and cosmetic surgery throughout the United States.

Dr. Liu was raised in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Because of his diverse cultural and academic background, Dr. Liu is fluent in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
